Call for Papers

The Organizing Committee cordially invites Scientists, Papermakers, Technicians, Manufacturers and Suppliers from all over the world, directly or indirectly engaged in the Forestry, Pulp and Paper field, to participate in the XXVII TECNICELPA Forest Biobased Materials Conference-2025, to be held in Tomar, Portugal, between the 22^nd and the 24^th October, 2025. Authors may submit Abstracts for Oral or Poster presentations addressing the following topics:

• Forest (resilient forest and climate change; responsible sourcing; wood quality; tree breeding and genetic improvement; biodiversity and ecosystem services; biomass) ;
• Pulp Production (fiber line, recovery area, process optimization, pulp quality and properties, pulping for innovative bioproducts);
• Papermaking (including P&W papers, Tissue, Packaging, Recycling, Converting and Printing);
• Innovative Biobased products and biorefinery processes and technologies (Novel forest biobased products, materials and fuels, new and modified biorefinery processes)
• Sustainable operations and products (clean production; circularity; water resilience; decarbonization; energy efficiency; minimum impact mills; eco-design and footprint; corporate social responsibility; Health and Safety)
• Digital Transformation ( IA and digital applications, advanced control systems, data science applications)
• Business activities (Human resources management, Education in P&P, Logistics, Marketing, Maintenance and Reliability)

Authors are encouraged to submit electronically, until May 15^th  2025, an abstract with no more than 500 words, following the Template and guidelines available from the conference website.

Suppliers may also submit abstracts to present in a separate technical session, mentioning in the notes “Commercial”. Those abstracts will have a different evaluation.

English is the preferred language but abstracts may also be submitted in Portuguese.

You cannot miss this unique event in the Forest, Pulp and Paper field, as well as related areas such as Biorefinery and Bioproducts, considering the relevance of the conference and the presence in Portugal of leading scientists, as well as important companies in the sector.

Please pay attention to the following deadlines:

• Submission of abstracts – May 15^th  2025
• Notification of acceptance – June 15^th  2025
• Submission of full papers – August 15^th   2025
• Submission of final oral presentations (pptx) – October 15^th  2025
